Bump Update: 26-27 Weeks

26 Weeks

Baby Size: The size (length) of a scallion.

Feeling: MOTIVATED. My desire to get things organized, cleaned and ready for our sweet boy has been unparalleled lately. I am driving Preston completely insane with the amount of projects I'm tackling (and asking for help on). Also feeling really excited for our baby moon coming up in a week and a half!

Food Cravings/ Aversions: Nothing, food continues to be easy!

Symptoms: I started taking magnesium per a recommendation of my prenatal yoga instructor and it has worked great - no more charlie horses or cramps at all! I have had plenty of Braxton Hicks though! I noted in one of my early week recaps that I started experiencing them around week 16, and they have continued through pregnancy and are picking up in frequency. They aren't painful at all, just very, very tight, which is good - my body is practicing for the real deal in a few short months!

Weight Gain: +14 pounds on gym scale

Projects: The home projects continue! We had our fence redone and I have been busy in they yard pulling weeds and planting grass in a few spots we had bushes removed from. I've also reorganized underneath our bathroom sinks, cleaned up the garage a bit more and worked on smaller nursery projects (like putting together the little reading nook above).

Dear Baby: Buddy you are going to be here before we know it! I hope you know how much I love being a place for you to grow and am so glad you are flourishing in there. Know that your dad and I and so many other people can't wait to meet you. I pray over you daily and can't wait to kiss your sweet little lips in 14 more weeks!

27 Weeks

Baby Size: The size of a head of lettuce (around 2 lbs and 14.5 inches).

Feeling: I continue to feel great and think that is in large part to continuing to work out and stay active. As my belly gets bigger, I have noticed that things aren't quite as easy and have been trying to get better about asking for help when needed. Still feeling incredibly motivated to get things done, Preston has commented more than once on my extreme nesting. ;)

Food Cravings/ Aversions: Nothing new to report here! Though I am excited to indulge in some delicious food on our baby moon next week. :)

Symptoms: Symptoms this week include majorly embarrassing pregnancy brain. I can't believe I am this... I was doing a quick garage organization and needed to pull my car out of the garage. I hopped in my car and put into reverse and started to back out... WITHOUT SHUTTING MY DOOR. I hit the garage frame, luckily there was no damage to my car but, like any self respecting adult, I put out an SOS call to my parents to come assess the situation. Fortunately it was nothing my dad and a hammer couldn't fix and no permanent damage was done on anything (besides my ego).

In other pregnancy symptoms I should mention that I go to the bathroom about 592 times a night. It doesn't help that I've started drinking a cup or two of tea before bed every night, but it is the most relaxing ritual I'm not willing to give up.

Also, my belly is doing a major growth spurt this week! I can see and feel the difference in the last week and have a continue it is going to continue to grow rapidly!

Weight Gain: +15 pounds on gym scale

Projects: My parents are amazing and helped me build these awesome triangle shelves for Samuel's room which I couldn't be more excited about. I've wanted to do these shelves for awhile but didn't quite have the handy skills to execute myself - thank the Lord for awesome parents who had no problem helping me make them! I am so in love with how they turned out and can't wait to post pictures soon.

Dear Baby: Sweet little love the weeks are going so fast and before I know it you will be here! Know that I pray for you and the man you will become everyday. Thank you for making me a mama precious boy!

Bump Update: 25 Weeks

Baby Size: Size of a cauliflower! That explains why my bump isn't messing around anymore! :)

Feeling: Much better emotionally this week. It has been hard to watch our sweet pup not feel well, but the upside to that is that I've gotten a bigger glimpse of what an AMAZING dad Preston is going to be. He's slept on the couch multiple nights in a row to take Sebastian potty 4-5 times, which makes for sleepless nights but he is so sweet about it. Both Preston and I have also felt so thankful to family and friends for being so helpful and thoughtful - it really has made us feel so loved to know that there are so many people cheering on our little family with both pregnancy and puppy life.

Pregnancy wise, I have felt amazing! It is incredible to watch my body grow and stretch to accommodate my growing babe. This is hands down the coolest thing my body has ever done.

Food Cravings/ Aversions: Nothing, I'm starting to think these pregnancy cravings are a big myth. ;) I did definitely love having Lick ice cream recently, I foresee more of it in my future!

Symptoms: I had my first charlie horse of pregnancy this week! No thank you! I had just read that they were common during pregnancy and thought I was going to be lucky and avoid them. I think it was a perfect storm of a really good leg workout, not enough water and sleeping on the couch (P was out of town and I was on Sebastian duty) that led to it. I will absolutely be making sure I get enough water and calcium from here on out!

Weight Gain: +13 lbs at my appt last week (which was at 24w6d)

Projects: This week was really productive! Because our sweet Sebastian has had some bad tummy troubles, we haven't been able to leave the house very often. The upside to that was that I got a lot done on the home front! My mom came over one afternoon (have I mentioned how much I LOVE my parents living in Austin) and we sewed the crib skirt - it was such a fun time and I am so happy with how it turned out. Then my sister came over and we did the gallery wall in the nursery, projects are SO much more fun with helpers! We also got another estimate on our fence being rebuilt, which we're going to move forward with. I can't wait to work on our back/ front yard a bit more this spring!

Dear Baby: Next to being a wife to your daddy, being your mom is my favorite job I've ever had. You impressed the midwives with your kicks at our last appointment and I already got to pull out my proud mom card, "Oh yes, he is verrrry strong." I've had so much fun working on your nursery more this week and day dream about the day I will be able to hold you in there. Love you so much my sweet boy!!
